That type of farm is called a "kop-hals-romp boerderij" (Literally "head-neck-body farm). It has a high roofed two story house and a huge barn connected by a lower part where the milking is done.

mare, Thanks. The family of my maternal grandmother were farmers from Lith, Holland. They settled in Minnesota and have a barn complex that resembles this layout.
